Albeit Raleigh is not New York City or Los Angeles, or even Washington DC, I love it for the single reason that for a mere one dollar and eighteen cents ($1.18), I was able to eat well and see my new love interest (the band Carbon Leaf -- check 'em out at www.carbonleaf.com), not to mention enjoy the company of some dear people.
Granted, the eating-well portion of the night resulted from a wedding reception - congratulations Gina and Bob - but I'm not sure I would have found the people that led me to celebrate a new marriage, dance 'til I fell down, or sit in a fast food restaurant for over an hour anywhere else but here, in Raleigh, North Carolina.
For the moment, there's no other place I'd rather call home -- even if you paid me.
